- Homodrop is a queer party in East London. It began in Dalston Superstore, but recently announced that it's moving to Grow Tottenham. The crew has put together its first compilation, from which all profits will go to Gendered Intelligence, a charity that works to increase understandings of gender diversity by running youth groups for trans and non-binary people, and offering trans awareness training for businesses.
Cheriii's "Wet The Fruit" seems to reflect dance music's queer history. From the outset, the bassline smacks of the '80s, a time when queer British club culture was coming to the fore. Part Bronski Beat, part Italo disco, the track moves through layers of synths, before ending with a single pulsing note, insistent in its energy. Like all good tracks, "Wet The Fruit" finishes as though it has more to say.
