COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - While football fans won’t be able to watch what would have been the 31st annual Fountain City Classic this weekend in Columbus, they still participated in the organization’s networking event known as Cufflinks and Pearls.

The virtual event was held Thursday evening and included special guest speakers, a live DJ, and opportunities to network. The event also featured Aisha “Pinky” Cole, founder and CEO of Slutty Vegan.

The Fountain City Classic, a rival football game between Albany State and Fort Valley State held at A.J. McClung Memorial Stadium , is more than just a sporting event. It has grown into a weekend of activities, including a health fair, college recruitment fair, networking, and more. That’s why organizers decided to take one of their most popular networking events virtual this year.

This year marked the 13th annual Cufflinks and Pearls Networking Mixer. The goal of the event is to bridge the gap between different generations so they can learn, connect, and grow.
