Edinburgh woman with rare cancer hopes to raise £45k for specialist treatment in Mexico to help fulfil baby dream

A CANCER-stricken wife hopes to raise £45,000 for specialist treatment in Mexico to help fulfil her dreams of being a mum.

Laura Anderson, 34, launched a GoFundMe drive to pay for alternative methods as she fights a rare neuroendocrine tumour in her pancreas.

She was misdiagnosed with IBS, endometriosis and pancreatic cancer for two years after seeking medical help following a struggle to get pregnant.

By the time Laura, of Edinburgh, was correctly diagnosed the tumour had spread around her body.

She froze her eggs before undergoing chemotherapy last year and hopes the treatment can help her and hubby Paul to finally become parents.

Donations to her fundraiser had last night topped £25,000.

Laura said: “We can’t believe the kindness. We are so overwhelmed. The generosity is amazing.”
