It appears there’s a new dress in town that's sure to be in your sights following its huge popularity across social media – and it’s from Marks & Spencer.

If you feel as though you’ve seen the dress somewhere before, then it’s likely because Holly Willoughby has been flaunting it over on her Instagram.

Popping up Christmas decorations with her sister, This Morning's Holly took to Instagram to write that she was “rockin around the tree,” before letting fans know where her charming, floaty dress was from.

And, instead of all eyes being on the Christmas tree she was decorating, it appears attention was fully fixed on Holly’s frock from high street stalwart M&S – and now everyone is wearing it.

The M&S Collection Satin Printed Waisted Midi Dress is available for £49.50 and is in fact the black iteration of the sell-out navy leopard print version you may have seen this autumn.

The dress, which has flooded Instagram feeds, has been seen on fashion editors, influencers and Holly Willoughby too, of course.

Head of Content at M&S, Rachel Sullivan, who can often be seeing flaunting the brand’s latest looks on her social media account posed in the dress, writing: “Getting some joy from the tie on the back of this gorgeous satin dress this morning.

"So much so that I'm considering braving the commute without a coat. Let's see how long that lasts..."

Then fans of the dress were quick to take to the comments section to rave about the floaty number.

“This is beautiful” wrote one, whilst another added “Wow absolutely stunning dress.”

“This dress is gorgeous,” added another.

The designers behind the dress say: “The slinky satin fabric and dainty pleats of this midi dress create a gorgeously floaty look. Waisted shape for a flattering fit. High neckline with feature tie fastening to the back. Button-up cuffs on the wrists.”

The dress, which is making quite the impact, isn’t the first to have made such a huge impression.

The famous Zara polka dot dress kicked things off back in summer. Their midi polka dot dress was one of the most spotted dresses over summer, even garnering its own Instagram page.

The unexpected viral number was suitable for all weathers and sizes, which is likely why it became so popular. The £39.99 dress was heavily discussed online and worn by women everywhere.

Then recently, too, it’s been the turn of another M&S’ floaty floral number, a £55 dress that swept across Instagram feeds, worn by the likes of Vogue Williams.
