Human bones have been found in woodland close to a motorway and an IKEA, sparking a police investigation.
The remains were discovered close to junction nine of the M6 in Wednesbury, West Midlands, on Monday evening.
Officers suspect the remains may have been there for "some time".
They were discovered lying in a patch of dense woodland, although it is currently unclear who found them.
Forensic officers were seen searching an embankment on Axeltree Way, close to a railway line, the River Tame and IKEA Birmingham on the Gallagher Shopping Park.
A detective was also seen making his way through the trees.

An investigation has been launched by West Midlands Police.
A spokesman for the force said: "We are investigating after human remains were found in Axeltree Way, Wednesbury yesterday evening (12 Apr).
"The remains appear to have been there for some time and tests are being carried out to identify the victim and establish the cause of death.

Wednesbury sits to the south west of Walsall and had a population of around 37,000 in 2011.
Last month the remains of a middle-aged man were found behind a property in Biggin Hill, Greater London.
An investigation was launched by the South Area Command Unit of the Met Police.
