A motorcycle passenger died and two people were injured in a weekend crash involving two motorcycles in west central Minnesota.

BENSON - A motorcycle passenger died and two people were injured in a weekend crash involving two motorcycles on a Swift County highway.

The crash was reported to the Swift County Sheriff's Office shortly before 7:30 p.m. Saturday on Swift County Road 15, approximately half a mile north of Swift County Road 20.

The Sheriff's Office said the two motorcycles, a 2001 Honda and a 2002 Harley Davidson, were southbound on County Road 15 when a doe and fawn crossed the road. The Honda struck the doe and went into the west ditch and the Harley Davidson tipped over, avoiding a collision with the deer and the other motorcycle.

The driver and passenger of the Honda and the driver of the Harley Davidson were all taken to the Swift County-Benson Hospital. The passenger, Doreen Touhey, 64, of Benson, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Swift County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Benson Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Benson Ambulance, Danvers First Responders, Danvers Fire Department, Stevens County Ambulance and Life Link.
