Woman Killed In Madison Carjacking

MADISON, TN -- A woman was shot dead during a robbery and carjacking in Monday Madison night and the suspect is on the run, perhaps in the stolen car.

The victim, who has not been identified, was in her car with another woman outside a Due West Avenue apartment complex around 11 p.m. Monday where the women had been visiting family when the gunman approached the passenger side and demanded money from the women.

Police say the man shot into the car, hitting the driver and forced both women out of the car and drove away. The driver was taken to Skyline Medical Center, where she died.

Police are looking for a charcoal 2005 Nissan Altima with Tennessee tag 8390AL. The tag is a University of Alabama speciality plate.
