The list continues to grow as more states are approved to hand out unemployment benefits from the “Lost Wages Assistance” program administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Where does your state stand? Here’s a state-by-state breakdown:
Alabama: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 21. When will payments go out? The department of labor is expecting money to go out in the next week or so.
Alaska: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 23. When will payments go out? Mid to late October.
Arizona: Arizona was one of the first states to get approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 15. When will payments go out? Money already started to roll out to residents just a couple days after the state was approved.
Arkansas: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 25. When will payments go out? Mid to late September.
California: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 21. When will payments go out? The state expects to start processing payments the week of Sept. 7 but warns it will be a phased process.
Colorado: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 16. When will payments go out? Mid to late September.
Connecticut: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 24. When will payments go out? Mid-September.
Delaware: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Sept. 2. When will payments go out? Right now, it’s to be determined.
Florida: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 29. When will payments go out? Right now, it’s to be determined.
Georgia: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 23. When will payments go out? Mid to late September.

Illinois: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Sept. 1. When will payments go out? Right now, it’s to be determined.
Indiana: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 21. When will payments go out? Mid to late September.
Iowa: Iowa was one of the first states to get approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 15. When will payments go out? Right now, it’s to be determined.
Kansas: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Sept. 7. When will payments go out? Right now, it’s to be determined.
Kentucky: Approved to send out $400 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 21. The state plans to add $100 to the federal benefit for its residents. When will payments go out? Early September.
Louisiana: Louisiana was one of the first states to get approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 15. When will payments go out? Money started rolling out to residents at the end of August.
Maine: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 25. When will payments go out? Right now, it’s to be determined.
Maryland: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 19. When will payments go out? Right now, it’s to be determined.
Massachusetts: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 21. When will payments go out? Mid-September.

Minnesota: Approved to send out $300 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 29. When will payments go out? Money should be rolling out to residents this week or by the end of next week.

Montana: Approved to send out $400 per week in unemployment benefits on Aug. 18. The state plans to add $100 to the federal benefit for its residents. When will payments go out? Money should be rolling out after the state started sending money at the end of last month.

South Dakota: The state’s governor has said it will not apply for the federal funding, saying it’s recovered nearly 80% of its workforce.
