Early voting began Thursday in the Aurora area for the June 28 primary election, with Thursday also marking the first day mail-in ballots were sent to voters.

Illinois voters will select their party nominees for every statewide office in the primary election. Voters also can cast ballots for one U.S. Senate seat, two seats on the Illinois Supreme Court, all 17 of Illinois’ representatives in Congress, every state senator and representative in the General Assembly, and many county and judicial offices, as well as some referendum questions.

The primary election sets the stage for the general election on Nov. 8.

Through June 10, early in-person voting will be available in Kane County from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Kane County County Clerk’s Office locations at 719 S. Batavia Ave., Building B, in Geneva, and 5 E. Downer Place, Suite F, in Aurora.

On June 13, early voting will expand to include 25 sites in the county, including nights and weekends at some sites.

In Kendall County, early in-person voting is available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the County Clerk’s Office, Room 104, at the Kendall County Office Building at 111 W. Fox St. in Yorkville, through June 17. Then, through June 27 there will be expanded hours for early voting at the site including weekend hours.

In addition, beginning June 9, there will be early voting available at the Oswego Library Montgomery campus at 1111 Reading Drive in Montgomery and at Oswego Village Hall at 100 Parkers Mill in Oswego. Early voting will be available at both sites from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through June 23.

In DuPage County, early in-person voting is available at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 Manchester Road in Wheaton, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays through June 11.

More early voting locations will open in the county on June 13.

In Will County, in-person early voting is available from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Will County Clerk’s Office, 302 N. Chicago St., in downtown Joliet.

Voting times at the Will County Clerk’s Office will expand to include weekend and evening hours starting on June 18.

Beginning on June 13, registered voters in Will County may also begin casting ballots at one of 25 early voting satellite locations scattered throughout the county.
