Golf Club-Wielding Muggers Threaten Man In Central Park: Police
The robbers were scared off when the man yelled for police.
CENTRAL PARK, NY — The NYPD released photos of a suspect in an attempted robbery where an elderly man was threatened with a golf club in Central Park.
A 72-year-old man was sitting on a park bench near West 88th Street and West Drive on Wednesday when he was approached by three unknown teens, police said. The teens, one of whom was brandishing a golf club, threatened the parkgoer and demanded his money.
When the victim screamed for help, the robbers ran off, police said. Nothing was stolen and the man was not injured, said police.

The group of thieves fled the park, one heading north on Central Park West and the other two heading West on 90th Street, police said. All three suspects are identified as teens between the ages of 16 and 17.
