Live Nation's First Ever Drive-In Concert Series Will Feature Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, Jon Pardi, and More

  • Concerts all over the country have been canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

  • Many musicians started doing live streams to keep playing for fans during the pandemic.

  • Now, musicians, in partnership with Live Nation, will be playing a series of drive-in concerts across the U.S.

In a world where live concerts have been put on hold since March as a result of COVID-19, it was only a matter of time before singers got creative and came up with a way to deliver performances that won’t soon be forgotten. What started out as an endless string of virtual performances on Instagram and Facebook Live has now turned into a series of drive-in concerts.

On Monday, June 22, Live Nation announced “Live From the Drive-In”—a three-city drive-in concert series debuting in July. Set to take place in St. Louis, Nashville, and Indianapolis from July 10-12, "Live From the Drive-In" will feature a weekend full of acts that can be watched from the comfort of your own car.

Brad Paisley will headline in each city, and there will be special performances by Darius Rucker and Jon Pardi in Nashville, Nelly and El Monstero in St. Louis, and Jon Pardi and Yacht Rock Revue in Indianapolis.

Considering COVID-19 is still a top concern, Live Nation is hosting this series with all of the CDC’s top recommendations (as well as local jurisdictions’ safety protocols) in mind.

This will be done by focusing on social distancing within the venue parking lots, which is where the drive-in concerts will be viewed from. What’s more, in order to make safety a priority, Live Nation is limiting four people to a car. Each car will have its own space, along with a space next to it for tailgating and an empty space on each side to ensure social distancing between groups.

(Talk about a different kind of concert experience!)

“Our ultimate goal is to connect fans with artists to create those lasting memories, and we have teams around the world exploring unique ways to make that happen,” Live Nation Venues-U.S. Concerts president Tom See told Rolling Stone. “There’s not a one-size-fits-all approach to drive-in concerts, but we’re fortunate to have our venues and logistics in place to ramp these shows up quickly as communities are ready. Artists and fans are having fun with them, and employees and crews are glad to be working some shows, so for us it’s a win all around.”

For full details on who is playing when and where, check out the lineup below. And remember, unlike traditional concerts, for this series, buying one ticket will get you and three friends access to the show, as one ticket covers a car-full of people.
