Since its founding in 1994, the Zemlinsky Quartet has become a much-lauded example of the Czech string quartet tradition. In 2010, the quartet received the First Grand Prize in the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition. Did you know that here in Hawaii, about 200 blood donors are needed every day to help meet the needs of Hawaii’s patients? Here are some examples of how much blood is needed. Someone in a serious automobile accident may need up to 50 units of blood. Someone with a burn may need up to 20 units of platelets. A person undergoing heart surgery may need up to 6 units of blood, and someone undergoing a heart transplant may need up to 40 units of blood.”Any donated blood can save lives! Please join sophomore, Bailey, at Lahainaluna High School who belongs to Troop 79 on the Westside of Maui and is working towards his Eagle. He has organized this entire event.
