COLUMBUS, OH — All of Ohio's key COVID-19 metrics were up on Tuesday.

In the past 24 hours, health officials confirmed 7,981 new COVID-19 cases among Ohioans. At least 100 Ohioans died from COVID-19 complications, and 486 Ohioans were admitted to hospitals for COVID-19 treatment.

The hospitalizations have been a concern for health officials for weeks, with many warning hospitals are straining under the influx of patients. Ohio had been averaging 299 COVID-19 hospitalizations per day, but Tuesday saw nearly 500 Ohioans enter hospitals for coronavirus treatment.
