Irina Shayk Poses for DL1961 Dressed in Denim, Jumpsuits and Athleisure

Premium denim brand DL1961 revealed its Fall/Winter 2021 campaign starring model Irina Shayk.

Shayk is a natural fit to front the denim campaign. Rarely a week passes by without her off-duty denim style reported on by fashion publications, including her bold choice to step out in New York City dressed in Mugler’s thong jeans.

“Irina represents the strong, powerful femininity of the DL woman,” said Sarah Ahmed, DL1961 chief creative officer. “After a challenging year for fashion, working with her was a breath of fresh air and truly made me fall in love with denim again.”

Actress/entrepreneur Jessica Alba and model/actress Emily Ratajkowski have starred in previous DL1961 campaigns.

In the F/W ’21 campaign photographed by Chris Colls, Shayk dons statement pieces like DL1961’s new dark indigo utility “Freja” jumpsuit and the ultra-high-rise Rachel flare jeans made with the brand’s Instaculpt fabric that smooths and shapes. The fall collection also offers on-trend vintage straight fit jeans with a worn-in knee, the wide-leg “Hepburn” jean and a high-rise slim jean.

The denim collection centers around an authentic vintage pre-aged look with DL1961’s state-of-the-art processes like waterless ozone and laser technologies that eliminate the need for wasteful washing. Cotton, Tencel, Lycra and polyester blends are used throughout the line, as well as 100 percent cotton denim fabrics.

Other items in the line include camouflage-print cropped jeans, a puff-sleeve blouse, a slim Trucker jacket and leather trousers.

The F/W ’21 season also marks the launch of DL Athleisure, a collection of elevated everyday staples with moisture-wicking properties and a jet-black finish that never fades. The line includes a cotton and Lycra cropped sweatshirt, a lightweight athletic jacket with patch pockets and a waist-cinching drawcord and matching relaxed fit joggers.

The full F/W ’21 collection retails for $139-$899.

While the athleisure line shows a new and relevant side to the brand, DL1961 remains committed to cleaning up the denim industry.

As a vertically integrated manufacturer, DL1961 ensures the utilization of recycled water, clean dyes, renewable fibers, and organic cotton. This year it joined fellow denim brands like Frame and Gap in Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s mission to eliminate waste and promote a completely circular economy through the Jeans Redesign guidelines.
