Herbert Myhan
Rev. Herbert Olen Myhan, 81, of East Brainerd, died on Friday, April 16, 2010 in a local hospital from complications due to Alzheimers.
He was born on December 3, 1928, in Tuscumbia, Al., to James O. and Ella Lee Myhan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Edward M. and William H. Myhan.
Rev. Myhan was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He pastored several churches in the Chattanooga area, most recently Oak Grove Baptist Church and Kingspoint Baptist Church.
He was a graduate of Tennessee Temple College and Bible School. He volunteered in several nursing homes and also retired from the Nestle Company.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Thomas Myhan; daughters, Susan Clark (Jay), Lafayette, Ga.; Becky Traffanstedt (Chris), Ringgold; three granddaughters, Anna, Katie, and Hope Traffanstedt; sister, Joyce Underwood, San Antonio, Tx.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David King and Dr. Jim Gennoe officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
