It’s not too early to starting thinking about next year’s Holyoke St. Patrick’s Parade.
More than 700 men and women participated in the 5th annual 2018 Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day 5K road race at Holyoke’s Ashley Reservoir.
The event is timed exactly halfway between the latest 68th Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day parade in March, and the next St. Patrick’s Day road race, in 2019.
Meredith Maslowski from Easthampton told 22News, “It’s nice and cool, it gives me a chance to get out and see what I can do against other people, the competition. And I love it, whenever I can do a run that will benefit any type of fundraiser, that will help anyone that’s more needy than I am.”
All the money raised at Saturday’s road race will help cover the cost of the St. Patrick’s parade in March of 2019.
