The Digital Human Series 7, Magic The Quiet Zone: Green Bank, West Virginia

Diane Schou kindly invited us to her home in Green Bank, West Virginia. She moved there to escape electromagnetic frequencies she believes were making her terribly ill. She is one of less than 200 residents at the heart of the West Virginia Quiet Zone, set up in the 1950s to facilate the Green Bank Telescope - a radio telescope that's bigger than the statue of liberty, and needs a blanket of electromagnetic silence to detect energy waves that come from stars or gases in he universe. Local producer Catherine V. Moore met with Diane and took these gorgeous pictures to show us what live looks like in the Quiet Zone.
