MT. HOREB/MADISON – Mitchell Edwin Towne, age 75, passed away peacefully at Badger Prairie Health Care Center on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.
Mickey was born on April 26, 1946 in Madison, WI to Maurice and Bernice (Balthazor) Towne. He grew up and graduated from Mt. Horeb High School. Mickey was a hard worker, whether he was working on the farm, or being a custodian, and working two jobs, at times, he put everything he had into his work. He enjoyed gardening, and every summer, he would till the soil, and plant vegetables; there was a garden just for potatoes. He liked nice cars and he prided himself on keeping them spotless. He loved waxing his cars and keeping them spotless on the inside. He loved traveling with his family, driving hundreds of miles to Florida, Tennessee, and Kansas. Mickey truly loved God and always turned to his faith in hard times.
Mickey is survived by his children, Amy (Robert) Steinmetz and Steven; grandchildren, Jackson Towne and Noah Steinmetz; siblings, Helen (Lee) Meissner of Janesville, WI, Maurice Jr. (Joyce) in Topeka, KS, and Emily; special friend, Constance Willis; and mother of his children, Susan.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, David; and sister, Kathleen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM on Friday, October 29, 2021 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 220 Enterprise Drive, Verona, with Pastor Lee Meissner presiding.
A special thanks to the caring staff at Badger Prairie Health Care Center.
