Apparently, there is no stopping “The Masked Singer.” We can only hope to contain the crazy, costume-fueled pandemonium that surrounds it.
The bizarre Fox reality competition has already spawned an upcoming spin-off — “The Masked Dancer” — and now it will have its own national live tour, with a stop in San Jose.
Brace yourself, Bay Area, and be prepared to chant “Take it off! Take it off!”
“The Masked Singer” tour, which kicks off on May 28 and will infiltrate 45 cities, arrives at the San Jose Civic on July 22. We’re told that audiences can expect to see their favorite characters brought to life onstage, as well as “surprise celebrity guests, amazing new performances and a can’t-miss spectacular live show for audiences of all ages.”
Tickets for the tour are on sale now at LiveNation.com. Reserved seats for the San Jose Civic show range from $35.00 to $95.00 plus applicable charges.
“As the formation of Fox Alternative Entertainment allowed us to bring production of ‘The Masked Singer’ under the Fox banner, we can now explore new and exciting ways to grow this hit franchise,” said Rob Wade, an executive with Fox Entertainment, in a statement. “‘The Masked Singer’ national tour is a perfect example of this growth . …”
Season 3 of “The Masked Singer” premiered in the coveted post-Super Bowl slot and lured in 26.7 million viewers, making it television’s highest-rated and most-watched reality telecast in eight years. It also ranks as Fox’s highest-rated and most-watched entertainment telecast in six years. With 28.6 million multi-platform viewers, the show posted its highest-rated, most-watched and most-streamed telecast ever.
The live show will feature two celebrity guest hosts, as well as one local celebrity who will be in a top-secret disguise, keeping the audience guessing until they are unmasked at the end of the night.
