Fotis Dulos appeared in front of a judge Wednesday for the first time on murder and kidnapping charges, nearly eight months after the disappearance of his estranged wife, Jennifer Farber Dulos.

Dulos was held on a $6 million bond. The judge also issued a protective order saying Dulos cannot have any contact with his five children.

If he is able to post bond, Dulos will have to wait for his trial under house arrest.

Dulos’ defense attorney Norm Pattis said outside of court he believes the case against his client is weak.

“There does not appear to be a crime scene weapon, there doesn’t appear to be any admissions or statements against penal interests, there’s no body.”

Michelle Troconis, an ex-girlfriend of Dulos was also arrested Tuesday and arraigned Wednesday. She’s charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Prosecutors allege Troconis helped Dulos cover up the crime.

The third defendant arraigned in the case Wednesday was Kent Mawhinney, a friend and former civil attorney for Dulos. He was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, prosecutors claim he dug a large hole and tried to help Dulos fabricate an alibi. Bond in his case was set at $2 million.
