Sherry Pan — owner of the recently closed Kiku Japanese Steak & Seafood — posted the first of her promised YouTube cooking tutorials this week.

Pan filmed the instructional video for hibachi fried rice from her home, offering a step-by-step guidance that runs just under 12 minutes. The dish was a staple at her Parkway Pointe restaurant at 3050 Lindbergh Blvd.

Pan also teased the next dish she plans to walk subscribers through — chicken fried rice. New installments are expected monthly, she said.

Kiku Japanese Steak & Seafood closed earlier this month after operating on Springfield’s west side since 2009. Pan called the closure temporary, promising to reopen in the spring of 2022.
