OHIO COUNTY, Ind. (WKRC) - A man is dead after a crash involving a utility task vehicle and a car in rural Indiana Tuesday.

Indiana State Police say the crash happened on Salem Ridge Road near Poor House Hill Road in rural Ohio County. A 63-year-old man was driving a UTV west on Salem Ridge when he tried to turn left into a field. A car behind him moved into the eastbound lane to pass when it struck the back of the UTV, pushing it off the road and causing it to overturn.

A passenger in the UTV, 34-year-old Brandon Foutty of Rising Sun, was partially ejected. He was taken to a Dearborn County hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The 63-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car was not hurt.

Toxicology results for both drivers are pending at this time.
