The photos quickly got some negative attention on Twitter and some of her millions of followers accused her of racism for appropriating Native American culture."I hate to break the news to u Pamela but this is the quintessential cultural appropriation that people are not liking. The Native head dress. Not so cool." one fan tweeted while another wrote, "Cultural appropriation is not a good look.""Sooooo big on respect for animals but not so much for humans who don’t look like you?? Got it, Pam," one triggered fan wrote.

Avoiding The Issue?

Anderson is a huge animal activist and often uses her Twitter account to promote various causes, like the seal hunt, that are important to her.The actress has answered some of the fans on social media but has not addressed the racism claims."AND she’s against the seal hunt #racism," a follower commented on her post. Pam responded by confirming the barbary of the seal hunt."I am against the seal hunt. It’s barbaric and unsustainable ..to beat baby seals

  • crush there skulls for a 2$ pelt that there is no market for.Makes no senseThere are other ways ..to stay true to tradition - saving the environment."“This is really disappointing & racist Pam, I thought you were better than this," another follower said.

She Allegedly Blocked Fans On Twitter

The star shared an article titled, "The Illogic of Cultural Appropriation" in response but did not engage with fan's racism claims in any other way. However, several fans claimed that they were blocked by Pam after letting her know their thoughts and opinions."I’m blocked from Pamela Anderson’s account because I, like many others, told her what I thought about her ugly Native-insulting Halloween photos jail her," one blocked fan wrote.Another said, "#pamelaanderson blocked me on twitter because she got called out for being a hypocrite and posting her Halloween costume head dress. So celebs can get away with what ever they want?"

What Is She Trying To Say?

The star has continued to Tweet and Retweet some comments about love and spreading positivity. She recently retweeted the Dalai Lama's comments that read, "Anger, suspicion and jealousy disturb our minds. The antidote to these emotions is to cultivate patience and tolerance. Who provides us the opportunity to develop it? The one we call our enemy. Therefore, we can see him or her as a teacher."She also retweeted a quote she had previously shared from Hugh Hefner, "The First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech, freedom of press and you cannot have a free society if you do not have both.”Clearly this is an indirect way to address the backlash she has received.
