BIGLERVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) – Authorities in Adams County have identified an elderly woman who was found dead inside a collapsed home Monday afternoon.
State police say the woman was 73-year-old Carol Burke-Goodman.
Investigators went to her address on Stone Jug Road in Butler Township because people who interacted with her daily noticed she wasn’t answering the door.
When authorities arrived they found the entire interior of the house had collapsed. First responders couldn’t enter because of safety issues. They called a collapse team from Cumberland County and another team from York.
Crews used an excavator to assist accessing the house to get her out. It was described as a “very old and unsafe house.”
Burke-Goodman was last seen on Thursday. A welfare check came in Monday at 10 a.m.
Her body has been removed, and no autopsy is scheduled.
