CARTERSVILLE, GA — Aquafil USA’s Cartersville plant reopened Tuesday morning after closing Friday when 18 employees tested positive for COVID-19.

WBHF Community Radio reports that Aquafil tested all of its employees as a precaution after some employees were found positive for the coronavirus. In all, 18 employees tested positive as asymptomatic carriers, according to Caitlin Jacobs of Aquafil. Company representatives than traced contacts and notified those who may have been exposed.

Jacobs told WBHF that the plant used disinfectant fogging to control the virus. In addition, management is keeping employees 6 feet apart and working to further separate break-room tables and office spaces. According to Jacobs, supervisors will ensure that all employees are keeping their distance and wearing masks.
