A Pawnee County deputy was taken to a hospital after authorities say he was involved in a collision that led to a short manhunt.
At 1:20 p.m. Saturday, Deputy Scott McCowen was responding to a non-emergency call when a Dodge Ram pickup truck crashed into his vehicle on Highway 64 near 35400 Road.
The man driving the pickup truck ran from the vehicle, but law enforcement took him into custody about 20 minutes later. A news release says the man had methamphetamine in his possession.
The man told law enforcement that he ran because he didn't have a driver's license, had a firearm on him and is a convicted felon, according to the news release. He also told deputies that he tossed his gun while running but couldn't give an exact location.
The news release says the man admitted to smoking meth.
The man was taken to Cleveland Hospital and then arrested by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol on several counts, including driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, operating a vehicle under revocation, possession of schedule II CDS, possession of schedule I CDS and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
The news release identified the suspect as Isaac Haga. He was later booked into the Pawnee County Jail.
