This last weekend of August will be split 50/50. Sunday will definitely be the nicer day to get outdoors, but we'll have to get through the remnants of Laura Saturday and evening the risk of severe weather.

StormWatch7 is on Weather Alert Saturday, as what's left of Laura passes through the DMV. Take a look at the current storm track and notice the area of low pressure passing through D.C. around 5PM Saturday.

Expect tropical humidity Saturday with dew points in the mid 70s. It will be a mostly cloudy day with on and off rain and thunderstorm chances from the morning through the late afternoon.

The cloud cover will keep temperatures in the low 80s and may help limit our risk of severe weather Saturday; however, our team is still on Weather Alert, since there is a threat; albeit low, storms could contain damaging winds and even an isolated tornado. The Storm Prediction Center has our area in the SLIGHT risk category for these threats.

Since many of you will be out and about on your Saturday, keep your StormWatch7 app at the ready to track the rain and storms on our live doppler.

A cold front will slide through Saturday night ushering in a refreshing change Sunday.

You'll wake up to sunshine and temperatures in the 60s in the early morning. High temperatures will climb into the low 80s with much lower humidity and a refreshing northwest breeze. It will be delightful going to the farmers market, getting yard work done, dining outdoors, and really anything you have planned outdoors Sunday.
