The world solar challenge is a solar car race that brings together teams from all around the world.

Teams from universities, businesses and even high schools race the solar powered cars they've designed and built all the way from Darwin to Adelaide, which is over 3000kms!

What is the main aim of the World Solar Challenge?

The race has been an annual event since the 1980s. How has solar technology changed since the early years of the competition? And what are some of the challenges that solar car technology still faces?
