Name of man in police chase released

COSHOCTON — The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office has released the name of a man involved in a police chase on Monday. 

The sheriff's office said Mitchell A. Derheimer, 27, of Coshocton, is wanted on warrants for felony drug charges in Stark County. He will be transported from the local jail to the Stark County Justice Center. 

Deputies attempted to stop a GMC Jimmy for a traffic violation at the intersection of South Lawn Avenue and Alder Street. It fled the scene, leading authorities on a 23 mile chase on U.S. 36 to just outside Port Washington in Tuscarawas County. 

A man and a woman was taken into custody. The woman's name has not be released. The incident is still under investigation by the Coshocton County Prosecutor's Office with charges pending. 

Haywood rejoins Hasseman Marketing

COSHOCTON — Dustin Haywood has rejoined Hasseman Marketing and Communications as the director of marketing. Haywood previously worked for the firm for 10 years. 

In his new role, Haywood will not only help to market the services that Hasseman Marketing has to offer, but he will also provide marketing services to clients. This includes new digital marketing services. In addition, Haywood will help to increase the video production services the firm offers.

Opportunity School meeting

COSHOCTON — The Coshocton Opportunity School Governing Board will meet at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 27 at the Olde Warehouse Restaurant, 400 N. Whitewoman St. A public hearing to discuss IDEA funds and expenditures will be prior at 11:15 a.m. 

Board of elections slated to meet

COSHOCTON — The Coshocton County Board of Elections will meet at 5 p.m. Oct. 4 at the board office, 724 S. Seventh St. This is a date change from previously announced because of early voting. 

Canal Road closing for utility work

ZANESVILLE — The Muskingum County Engineer's Office has announced that Canal Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday from Vickers Hill Road to Ohio 586 for utility work by American Electric Power.
