The West O Bottle Shop and Bar in West Ocean City doesn't offer a drive-through option to customers, according to its owner, but that didn't stop one Delaware man from getting some beer.

Luis Arce Alcantara, 18, of Bridgeville, rammed his car into the bottle shop Saturday morning, causing approximately $5,000 in damages to the store, according to charging documents filed in Worcester County. Once inside, police said Alcantara stole two six-packs of Corona, valued at $19.18.

The entire break-in was caught by security cameras inside the bottle shop, according to charging documents. The cameras showed a Toyota Matrix driving through the business' front doors then leaving through the same way around 1 a.m.

Once police arrived, they reviewed the cameras and identified Alcantara's vehicle. While Maryland State Police were at the scene of the break-in, the state police barrack received a call that a car had driven into the ditch along Route 50 near Keyser Point Road, according to the charging documents.

Maryland State Police arrested a Delaware man on Saturday morning after he allegedly used his car to break into a West Ocean City business to steal beer.

Once police arrived, they discovered it was the same vehicle involved in the bottle store break-in just a quarter of a mile away, according to charging documents. Inside the Toyota, police found two six-packs of Corona, with some of the Coronas in one of the six packs already opened.

Alcantara was then arrested and has since been charged with multiple counts of burglary and theft. Alcantara is schedule to be in court next on Sept. 24 at 9 a.m. in Snow Hill.

Despite the damage, The West O Bottle Shop and Bar made light of the incident in a Facebook post.

"Our tagline at the bottle shop is 'Come on in my thirsty friends.' To clarify, we would prefer for the public to limit this to hours that the store is open,"store employees wrote on Facebook. "We will gladly help carry items to your car, no need to drive it in."

The owner, David Hambury, said the incident was one of the weirdest things he's seen.

"The individual pulled up into the parking lot, and I guess he noticed that we were closed and instead of pulling away and going somewhere else, he decided to just run his car through the store," Hambury said. "It's about as strange as it gets."
