Fall Art Show at Screw Factory

Dozens of local artists will show off their work at Screw Factory this weekend for the annual Fall Art Show. Peruse inventive art pieces and shop for new art in your home (or future gifts) at the weekend event, which features resident Screw Factory artists and visiting guests and makers. Free.

Jimmy Webb at Nighttown

Legendary songwriter Jimmy Webb will showcase his most iconic work with two performances at Nighttown this weekend. Webb, who has worked with everyone from Glen Campbell to Linda Ronstadt, will perform his hits on piano at the East Side jazz hotspot. Tickets $75.

Cleveland Ballet presents ‘Carmen’

The Cleveland Ballet Company kicks off its season with a performance of “Carmen” at Playhouse Square's Ohio Theatre. The show, which is set to the famous suite by composer George Bizet, includes live flamenco guitar. The choreography was set by the troupe’s artistic director, creating a new interpretation of the classic show. Tickets $25-$79.

Home Movie Day at Rock Hall

The Rock Hall will honor the art of home movies with its Home Movie Day. The museum will show a compilation film featuring rock-show footage from Northeast Ohio, and some of the film donors will be on hand to discuss their footage. Free.

Spooky Pooch Parade

Dogs and their families will show up in their best costumes for Lakewood’s annual Spooky Pooch Parade this month. The event includes various dog-friendly activities at Kauffman Park, along with the grand parade down Detroit Avenue. Admission free, registration $10.

Fleet Avenue Kielbasa Cookout

Cook your own kielbasa over a fire at the third annual Fleet Avenue Kielbasa Cookout. The event will also feature tastings of Slavic foods and beers from neighborhood restaurants and live music, performed by Slavic Village bands. Free.

“Summer: The Donna Summer Musical” at Playhouse Square

“The Music Man” at the Hanna Theatre

Boo at the Zoo

Wine Your Way Thru

Get lost in Mapleside Farm’s corn maze while enjoying tastings from local wineries and breweries along the way. Attendees also receive a tasting box with food samples to pair with each drink sample found at stations throughout the maze. Tickets $30.

Michelangelo: Mind of the Master at Cleveland Museum of Art

This major exhibition features more than 50 of the finest and most celebrated drawings by the most famous artist from the Italian Renaissance. Some of the masterpieces, on loan from the Teylers Museum in the Netherlands, have never been shown in the U.S. until now. Tickets, $5-$15.

Liu Wei’s “Invisible Cities” at MOCA and Cleveland Museum of Art

Two of Cleveland’s biggest art institutions are hosting internationally renowned artist Liu Wei’s “Invisible Cities” exhibition this fall. The art pieces are made of items like washing machines, refrigerators and rawhide dog chews. It’s Wei’s first solo exhibition in a U.S. museum. Free.
