By popular demand, Sally Quillin will teach two classes on May 23 with acrylic painting of a pear still life.

LAS CRUCES - Each Wednesday, the Doña Ana Arts Council presents a local expert  to teach an art class on topics including pen and ink with watercolor, torn paper landscapes, painting flowers in acrylic and small scale sculptures.

Get ArtRageous! classes are usually from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and include all materials and light refreshments. If the evening classes fill up, an afternoon class may be offered, according to a news release.

On Wednesday, Feb. 28, Sally Quillin will teach pen and ink with watercolor techniques. The evening class is full. However, an afternoon class will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. Community members are encouraged to sign up for classes early to ensure a spot.

Classes are currently scheduled through the end of May.

“We’ve had a wonderful response from the community for these classes,”Executive Director of the Doña Ana Arts Council Kathleen Albers said in a news release. “Both beginners and more experienced artists are finding a relaxed environment to experiment and leave with a finished work of art.”
