After much anticipation, a start date and time has been confirmed for Vicky McClure's emotional BBC One dementia documentary.
The first instalment of the channel's two-part special, Our Dementia Choir, will hit our screens on Thursday, May 2 at 8pm.
The Line of Duty star, who lives in Toton with her fiance Jonny Owen, started filming the documentary in Nottingham at the end of June.
Over the course of three months the Mother's Day actress joined forces with the University of Nottingham and the UK's leading scientists as she discovered the physical and emotional effects of music on the brain while meeting people with dementia and their families as she created a choir of people living with the condition.
It culminated in the Nottingham native taking to the stage of the Royal Concert Hall last September with 20 volunteers - aged between 31 and 87 - living with dementia.
More than a 1,000 people turned out in support for the performance which is being kept under wraps until the show is screened.
The documentary is based in and around Nottingham, with rehearsals taking place at Nottingham Lakeside Arts.
Vicky has close personal experience of dementia, through caring for her grandmother, Iris, who died from the disease in 2015.
She has since become an ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society, through which she has seen first-hand how music therapy can change the lives of dementia patients and those who love and care for them.
Speaking previously about the show, Vicky said: “I’m so pleased to be given the opportunity to be involved with this project. This is important television.
"We will all discover more about the incredible effects music can have on people living with dementia.
"One of my favourite quotes from one of my favourite artists, Bob Marley: 'One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain'."
