lived at Graceland with his extended family, many of whom he hired into his Memphis Mafia. Alongside his parents, his grandmother (Vernon’s mother) Minnie Mae lived at the Tennessee mansion until her death. While Vernon’s sister Delta Mae was also invited to live at Graceland after her husband died in 1966.

Even after Elvis died and tours of his home began in 1982, Aunt Delta still lived at Graceland using her bedroom and the kitchen.

This meant those rooms were off-limits to the public in order to accommodate her, before she died in 1993 at the age of 74.

But back in the seventies when Elvis was alive, she used to take care of The King’s daughter Lisa Marie.

But sometimes the two could really clash according to Elvis’ second cousin Danny, who grew up at Graceland too.

Danny Smith is the son of Billy Smith, Elvis’ first cousin and member of the Memphis Mafia.

And in one of his fascinating Memphis Mafia Kid YouTube videos he recounted a pretty amusing story of Lisa Marie being quite sassy with her Aunt Delta.

Danny said: “Aunt Delta most of the time kept up with Lisa as far as making sure she got her bath and her dinner and stuff like that.”

He recounted he, Lisa and the other kids would run wild around Graceland, adding: “We were probably a hell to keep up with.”

One evening, wanting to cut it off, Aunt Delta would say: “Lisa, it’s time for you to get your bath.”

At this time Danny and the other kids would have to head off, being told they could all play tomorrow.

But Lisa would reply: “No, I’m playing. I don’t want a bath.”

Danny said how on this occasion they were downstairs at Graceland in the pool room.

Aunt Delta asserted: “Now Lisa, I ain’t gonna tell you one more time now.

“Go up and get your bath, so you can get to bed.

But a cheeky Lisa replied: “Why don’t you carry your fat a** back upstairs?”

Laughing at the end of the story, Danny added: “Lisa was a lot like her daddy, you just didn’t really tell her what to do!”

A few years ago, Lisa Marie herself told CBS’ The Talk how Elvis wasn’t strict at all with her.

She said: “He would sleep all day so me and my friends pretty much had the run of Graceland.

“And I knew that nobody was going to tell me what to do because they would get fired.

“I was, truly a terror to be honest.”
