Chris Falcon is an entrepreneur, personal trainer, artist, motivational speaker and anti-bullying advocate. He is the president-elect of the Glenview Chamber of Commerce and lives in Glenview with his wife and three kids.

Q: How did you get into the personal training business?

A: I’ve been around entrepreneurs my entire life. Both of my uncles are entrepreneurs, my grandmother was an entrepreneur and I grew up in a very exercise-motivated family. My uncle had a gym, a boxing club, since before I was born. So one might say was in the cards for me to own a business and have one in the fitness realm.

Q: What kind of artist are you?

A: My resume, if you will, is pretty strange. I’m not only a personal trainer … I’m also a motivational speaker, so I travel throughout the Midwest speaking. I also am a digital artist, so I create artwork digitally and then I sell limited edition Giclee prints of my work. I also write children’s stories. I have a (nonprofit) anti-bullying organization that I started. I’m also an inventor bringing a product to market in 2020 and I also write songs.

Q: Could you tell me about your songwriting a little bit?

A: I’ve been a writer for most of my life, it’s my first love, actually. I have a quill tattooed on my arm. I started writing poetry (and songs) at an early age. I do kind of sing and play guitar as well, but I’m horrible … Most of them are alternative rock in genre, but I also have country songs and blues and all these other things that I write. It’s on my list to copyright them and hopefully sell them to somebody else.

Q: Where did the inspiration arise for your anti-bullying organization?

A: I was bullied as a kid, they picked on me constantly. Being a personal trainer, parents would often bring their kids in here, thinking that exercise would help improve their self esteem, which it does. But I always felt like being on the sidelines and working with kids in the gym to raise self esteem wasn’t really enough.

Q: It seems like you have a lot of things you’re juggling, but is there anything you do to blow off steam outside of all of your interests?

A: To be perfectly honest with you, all the stuff that I do is how I blow off steam. I’m a natural born creative, I have to create stuff. If I don’t have an opportunity to create something new … that’s when things get complicated for me.

Q: Do you have a personal life philosophy that you live by?

A: What are we supposed to be doing with our time? We’re supposed to be collecting things that we love, experiences that we love, things that we love … (You have to) experience life to know if you love it or not. And then once I find something I love, I collect it and I embrace it.

Q: Is there something in particular that you look forward to every day or each week?

A: It sounds crazy, but something that I really enjoy is getting another idea and just taking notes. My workouts are really important to me. I love my family, I have two beautiful sons and a daughter, my wife is my greatest supporter and my purpose. Music is huge for me too.
