Down Wind Sports holds "Demo Day" in Marquette

An event happening in Marquette on Saturday introduced people to some winter weather activities.

Down Wind Sports held their annual Demo Day event. It was held at the Noquemanon Forestville Trailhead. People could test a variety of different styles of cross country skis, snowshoes and snow bikes.

Staff from Down Wind Sports helped them get fitted with a product that works best for their needs. They hope the event creates a non-threatening space for people to learn and ask questions.

“We want to get our customers into the right product, not just a pair of skis or a snow bike. We want them to know exactly what it takes to kind of get into the sport, and then that helps the sport grow. So, the more people skiing or the more people biking is a good thing,” said Todd King, Co-owner of Down Wind Sports.

Down Wind Sports will hold a demo day tomorrow Houghton at the Michigan Tech Trailhead and next Saturday at the Munising Valley Spur Trailhead.
