IUKA, Miss. (WTVA) - The Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Department has issued a warning about a reoccurring phone scam.
Someone claiming to be with the sheriff’s department is calling citizens about a “legal matter.”
The caller ID is not the department’s real phone number. The department’s real number is 662-423-7000.
The sheriff’s department reminds citizens it does not call them about such things.
It also does not work with third-party vendors to make calls on its behalf.
Citizens are reminded to not provide personal information over the phone.
