Minnesota recorded another 17 COVID-19 deaths Wednesday and 788 more infections were reported, according to the state Department of Health.

Those whose deaths were reported Wednesday ranged in age from their late 40s to their late 90s. Ten lived in private homes and seven in long-term care.

The death toll is 6,507 with 62 percent of fatalities residing in long-term care facilities. About 89 percent of those who’ve died we 65 or older.

Minnesota has administered 1.4 million doses of vaccine with 928,963 residents receiving at least one dose and 484,383 being fully vaccinated. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, the first to receive emergency authorization, both require two shots for the best immune response.

A newly authorized, single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine was approved over the weekend and Minnesota is expected to receive 45,200 doses this week.

Minnesota has inoculated nearly 55 percent of seniors and about 15 percent of residents age 50 to 64.
