¯ SEBRING 107, CHALKER 40: SEBRING — Four different players scored in double figures as Sebring rolled over the Wildcats in a non-conference matchup.

Jake Hunter and Gabe Lanzek combined for 50 points, with Hunter pouring in 26 and Gabe Lanzek sinking 24. Conner Shepherd added 16 points, and Carson Rouse put in 12 more. The Trojans led 23-3 after the first quarter and 56-11 at halftime.

Derek Sherwood paced Chalker with 11.

¯ BUTLER 88, CHANEY 73: BUTLER, Pa. — The Cowboys went up against the top player in Pennsylvania, Ethan Morton and battled hard in a loss.

Cameron Lawrence led Chaney with 17 points. Quincy Jones scored 14, and both Sharrod Taylor and William Brown scored 13.

Morton, a Purdue commit, scored 35 points for the Golden Tornadoes and Devin Carney added 26.

The Cowboys travel to Canfield on Tuesday.

¯ ELLWOOD CITY (Pa.) 76, EAST PALESTINE 40: ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. — The Bulldogs were outscored 15-0 in the first quarter, which set the pace for a big loss to Ellwood City.

Johnathan Bertovich led East Palestine with 19 points and Brandon Turcola added 11.

East Palestine scored a mere three points in the third quarter.

They scored 22 points in the fourth, outscoring Ellwood City 22-17, but it was too late for a comeback push.

The Bulldogs look to get their first win of the year at Leetonia.

¯ CARDINAL MOONEY 57, CHANEY 9: YOUNGSTOWN — Cardinal Mooney’s dominated the Cowboys in a crosstown matchup.

The Cardinals (2-1) held Chaney scoreless in both the first and third quarters. Alaina Scavina paced Mooney with 7, while Caitie Perry (14) and Katie Hough (12) also reached double figures. The Cardinals led 18-5 at half and put the game out of reach with a 25-0 run in the second quarter.

Janaysha paced Chaney (0-4) with four points.

¯ WEST BRANCH 72, BOARDMAN 38: BELOIT — West Branch scored 22 points in the fourth quarter to extend its lead and push past Boardman for a win.

Peyton Alazaus led the team with 15 points. Carly Scarpitti scored 14 and Hannah Ridgeway added 11.

The Warriors held Boardman under double-figures in three of the four quarters, allowing 13 in the third.

Leading the Spartans was Raegan Burkey who scored 10 points.

¯ MASSILLON JACKSON 55, AUSTINTOWN FITCH 26: AUSTINTOWN — The Falcons held close with Massillon Jackson in the first half, but the Polar Bears stormed out in the second half with a 22-1 scoring advantage in the third quarter to claim the victory and hand Fitch its first loss of the year.

Massillon Jackson converted on 13 3-point attempts, with Ava Scraggs draining five.

Daria Williams led the Falcons with 12 points.

Fitch looks to recover against East on Wednesday.

¯ ST. VINCENT ST. MARY 44, URSULINE 35: YOUNGSTOWN — Ursuline let off the gas in the fourth quarter and it cost them, losing by nine to St. Vincent St. Mary.

Ansah Moorman led the team with 14 points. Paris Gilmore added 12.

The Irish were outscored 14-5 in the final quarter. Dream Cherry led SVSM with 17 points.

Ursuline (1-2) looks to get back to .500 with a rivalry tilt against Cardinal Mooney.

¯ BROOKFIELD 44, CAMPBELL 39: CAMPBELL — Brookfield put together a fourth-quarter rally to knock off Campbell in an All-American Conference, Blue Tier battle.

The Warriors outscored Campbell, 19-9, to erase a five-point deficit. Anna Reichart and Sophia Hook powered Brookfield, scoring all 19 of the Warriors’ fourth-quarter points. Reichart notched 10 of her 14 points in the quarter (she also had a team-high 11 rebounds), and Hook had nine of her game-high 15 (with five assists).

India Amour-Clark led the Red Devils with 12 points, scoring seven of the team’s nine points. Leila Kamal added 11. She scored nine in the second quarter, when Campbell went from trailing 7-2 to taking a 19-13 halftime lead.

Boys bowling

BOARDMAN — The Austintown Fitch boys bowling team claimed the YSU Holiday Tournament championship on Saturday.

The Falcons scored 3,415 points to defeat Howland, Girard and Boardman. Vince Desiato and Larry Lagulli earned all-tournament honors. Desiato was the top scorer and Lagulli took fourth.
