Details of the Samsung Galaxy S10's triple rear cameras surface
Samsung is billed to unveil its next-gen Galaxy S devices sometime in Q1 next year. The devices have been in the headlines for a while now, and it’s been all but confirmed that at least one model will feature three cameras at the back. Details of those three sensors have now surfaced, giving us a better idea of what to expect from the S10’s photography capabilities.
According to the source, the S10 will feature a tri-rear camera setup comprised of a main sensor, wide-angle one, and a telephoto camera. The main sensor is a 12 MP one, the same variable (f/1.5, f/2.4) aperture sensor we’ve seen on the S9 devices. The telephoto camera is a 13 MP one with f/2.4 aperture, and the third camera is a 16 MP wide-angle sensor with a 123-degree FoV.
These three sensors mean the S10 will deliver incredible low-light performance, thanks to the variable aperture sensor, lossless zoom because of the telephoto lens, and wide, panoramic photos thanks to the wide-angle lens.
Interestingly, this combination of sensors is almost identical to the one found on the new LG V40. Of course, Samsung has usually had better image processing, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the S10 outperform the V40 camera-wise.
