Champ, No. A499034, needs a hero human

When eight-year-old Champ first arrived at the shelter, he was in rough shape, with fly bites on his ears and a mass on his leg. But the veterinary team at Pasadena Humane gave him loving care and medical treatment, and he’s now ready to be adopted. Champ, No. A499034, is a friendly dog who loves people and loves toys. He’ll even play with toys by himself for fun. Champ needs a little bit of time to get to know new people and other pets, so patience with Champ is key. This handsome guy is ready for his second chance.

The adoption fee for dogs is $150. All dog adoptions include spay or neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccines.

New adopters will receive a complimentary health-and-wellness exam from VCA Animal Hospitals, as well as a goody bag filled with information about how to care for your pet.

View photos of adoptable pets and schedule an adoption appointment at pasadenahumane.org. Adoptions are by appointment only, and new adoption appointments are available at 10 a.m. every Sunday and Wednesday.

Pets may not be available for adoption and cannot be held for potential adopters by phone calls or email.

Koni, No. A499883, needs a patient friend

One-year-old Koni is a little bit shy, but has been making such great progress with our staff and volunteers. One volunteer said that although Koni is a bit scared of new people, she starts out by giving slow blinks. Then, with a little bit of patience, along with some treats, she’ll let you pet her soft fur. Once she’s comfortable, she will even roll onto her back for more pets. Koni just needs a calm and understanding adopter to help her come out of her shell. Seeing her blossom is a reward in itself. Rescuing Koni could be the start of a new life of joy for human and pet.
