On my 77th birthday, I am blessed to share a few CAM approaches that helped me to age gracefully after my deadly stroke on Nov 23, 1998.

You bet; everybody can slow or reverse biological aging. It is the transformation of small steps- lifestyle Medicine.

The following CAM approaches helped me to reduce chronic dysregulated persistent immune inflammation and slowing biological aging processes since my fatal stroke on Nov 18, 1998. Without facing life-altering events (heart attack or stroke or advanced cancer or their precursor obesity) you can transform your lifestyle.

These approaches are the real long-term solutions for slowing or even reversing age-related chronic diseases, and these could or would help most people provided you adhere to them for months- years or decades or for life (1-5):

Ayurveda (1-3)

Intermittent fasting (UPVAS)- simple and doable (just delay the time of breakfast by 5-7 h on most days) and or eat less (ALP-AHAAR)

Sauna, Sun -daily or alternate days and or eat some sun-activated mushrooms. 

Optimize Body Hydration- “drinking or sip hot water, tea, ADRxSynergy, buttermilk or smoothies (greens and berries, fruits with some yogurt, etc.)

Avoid sugars, dairy, or artificial sweeteners. Note: many seniors end up in ER because of dehydration and falls!

OPTIMIZE GUT MICROBIOTA HEALTH

Food is medicine: Go Vegan –functional laxative FOODs and herbs/spices as Medicine (Improve Gut-microbiota health- “Beat Constipation and dysbiosis”). Transform the taste buds to relish fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds, and fermented foods

Enjoy any mild to moderate physical activity - yogic stretching, swimming, dancing, yoga, sports, etc. 

Aquatic yoga- could or would repair and regenerate your joints, and vast fabric of the body (fasciae) in most cases (4). 

Life in Yoga practices: Chakra cleansing- would help to cure deep-rooted conflicts and emotional hurts, addictions, PTSD, etc., and the breathing and stretching yogic exercises/hath yoga for resolution of minor stresses of life (LIY, Dr. Rajan Narayanan)).

Improve body’s balance: tree pose yoga and other poses (asanas) to prevent aging of the brain and legs, etc (6). 

Spirituality (GOD as medicine; the purpose of life). Expresses gratitude to 4 P (planet, plants, parents, pets), family and bosses, employers, etc.

Cherish, Nurture and create peace in Relationship (God, foods, self, family, friends, money, people, pets, places, God, foods), Do not expect much out of any relationship!

Reduce or prevent and reverse waist circumference; consume less animal protein, sugars, and unhealthy fats, stop smoking, alcohol, drugs, etc.
