Job-based health insurance falters

With millions of workers left unemployed by the pandemic, the job-based health insurance system of the U.S. has wavered under the pressure. About three million Americans are estimated to have already lost coverage through their or their spouse's employer. Similarly, as businesses struggle, millions more are increasingly at risk of losing insurance. A significant percentage of these workers are Black and Hispanic, groups that have already faced an outsize impact during the pandemic.
