‘Big Brother 21’s’ Jackson and Holly have their eyes on ‘The Amazing Race’

Jackson Michie and Holly Allen finished 1-2 on “Big Brother 21,” and now they’re hope to both finish at No. 1 on “The Amazing Race.”

“I’m not going to lie. I am going to shoot my shot on ‘The Amazing Race,'” Michie told WBBJ 7, a local station in his native Tennessee. “I’m planting the seed. I’m gonna try and reach out as much as I can for ‘The Amazing Race’ because we love to travel and we love to compete, so why not put both together?”

Added Allen: “I would do that in a heartbeat. I would love it.”

The couple, whose showmance is still going strong in the real world, will have to wait a bit to go trekking around the world. Season 32 of “The Amazing Race” is already in the can and is set to premiere sometime next year, while a 33rd season hasn’t officially been ordered yet (but Phil Keoghan feels optimistic about its prospects).

Only one “Big Brother” team has won “The Amazing Race” — and it was another showmance, Cody Nickson and Jessica Graf, who filmed Season 30 weeks after “Big Brother 19” wrapped. Last season’s reality showdown installment featured three “Big Brother” teams, but none even made the final, with Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo topping out in fourth place.

Michie dominated the comps in the back half of “Big Brother 21” in a “Season 5 ‘Amazing Race’ Colin Guinn” kind of way, so it’s very easy to picture him doing the same on “Race.” He’s confident the pair would do well because they’re both good with directions and they complement each other. Or if you remember Allen’s finale argument, she was the puppet master behind the scenes who kept him from going off the ledge.

“We can figure things out, but we also balance each other out in a lot of ways,” he said. “That’s where I think in ‘The Amazing Race,’ you need two people that if you’re too similar to each other, you will not last. You’ve got to have a negative and a positive to anything.”
