AVON — A fundraiser to build and sell playhouses should raise thousands of dollars for local charities.
“These are probably some of the coolest things kids could get,” Holli Snyder with the Avon Playhouse Project said.
The Avon Playhouse Project had local builders in Eagle County design eight one-of-a-kind playhouses that will be auctioned off. The money will be donated to local charities and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
“The best thing is that these all go to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Vail Board of Realtors Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity Vail Valley, so the money is going back to amazing causes,” Snyder said.
Some of the houses are two stories tall, have slides and are already priced at more than $8,000.
Bidding has started online at www.playhouseprojects.org, but now the houses are getting cleaned and ready for a live auction on Saturday.
