Seniors at Severn School had their graduation but with a schedule that allowed for smaller gatherings and photos of faculty and staff awaiting them when they arrived on the Severna Park campus.

On Wednesday, students received their diplomas and walked across the stage at the Alumni House, school officials said in a statement released Friday.

To do so, the graduates and immediate families arrived at the campus at a scheduled time. The 102 graduating seniors had the opportunity to stop and take photos before getting to the stage.

The school set up an audience of 170 faculty and staff photos stuck to the chairs, school officials said.

Headmaster Doug Lagarde called the names and graduates were given air high-fives or air fist bumps by administration members.

Photos and videos taken during the five-hour celebration will be included in the school’s online graduation ceremony on May 29. Students and family members will be able to hear commencement speeches and graduation awards.
