Update: Ohio man killed in I-70 crash

    Update:

    Police report the victim of a deadly crash Saturday morning near the Hancock-Henry county line was a 65-year-old Ohio man.

    Joseph Stehle, of Donnelsville, Ohio, died as a result of a head-on collision that occurred at around 10:30 a.m. about 6  miles east of Greenfield.

    According to police, two semitractor-trailers and four passenger vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the 110-mile marker.

    The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash. They have not yet said what caused the crash, though a news release said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash.


    HANCOCK COUNTY — A fatal crash on Interstate 70 near the Hancock-Henry county line left one dead and several injured.
    Police shut down I-70 at State Road 9 in Greenfield following a crash involving two semis and four vehicles. Traffic was routed through Greenfield to U.S. 40.
    The crash occurred Saturday morning near the 110-mile marker on the east side of Hancock County. At least one person has been confirmed dead as a result of the crash. Police have not yet released details of the crash, or the identity of the victim.
    The Hancock County 911 Center reported around 3 p.m. that I-70’s eastbound lanes had been reopened to traffic. The westbound lanes were never affected.
