A Florida man was charged with animal abuse after deputies said he set fire to a kitten’s face.

William Carr, 18, of Milton was arrested Friday, the Pensacola News Journal reported.

No serious injuries to the animal were reported, other than its whiskers being slightly burned, according to the report.

Deputies said Carr had gotten into an argument with a woman whom he’d met as they worked together on a house-painting job.

During the argument, Carr allegedly threatened to burn the two cats and kitten the woman had brought with her to the job.

He then put the kitten into a bucket, “set a cereal box on fire using a torch lighter and threw the burning box into the bucket with the kitten,” according to the report.

Carr was booked on $5,000 bond and later released, the Journal reported.
