We have reached the breaking point. Hundreds of thousands of migrants are throwing themselves in to the care of border agents, who now function almost exclusively as babysitters and healthcare providers, courtesy of the American taxpayer.
There is no more space in the detention centers for the still hundreds of thousands more making their way here. The Department of Homeland Security, running low on cash, is now making cuts to legal services and other goodies we’re forced by law to give to anyone who shows up at the border, so that agents can at least try keeping some semblance of a system in place.
But Democrats and liberals in the media are instead wilding out about how scared the children are and how it’s too bright in the detention centers for the hordes of illegal immigrants get their beauty sleep.
The next time a liberal judge or a House Democrat complains about turning the lights off in detention centers, Trump should direct ICE to do it. When 30 people are raped in the dark in just one facility as a consequence, let those who complained about the lights be the ones to explain why this happened.
The New York Times reported in February that the Justice Department had reviewed more 1,303 cases of alleged sexual abuse of migrant minors in U.S. custody. Nearly all of them, 1,125, “were allegations of minors assaulting other minors,” the report said.
Liberals: Here’s an idea! Now let’s cram all the little tykes in pitch black rooms for a slumber party! Maybe next we’ll open up high school girls’ locker rooms to Roy Moore.
The pressing issue right now is the crush of migrants that has overwhelmed the country, diverting billions of dollars of resources away from, say, black American families in need of federal housing.
Sorry, such cases must wait while we accommodate every person south of the border who can pronounce the word “asylum.”
Democrats and other liberals don’t care about the minor discomfort of migrants who have to wait a few days in a detention center before they’re turned loose. If they did, they would have passed some form of legislation by now to stop the chaos. What they really want is exactly what’s happening — the full collapse of the southern border so that anyone from anywhere is allowed in, no questions asked.
