KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Law enforcement officials in Smithville, Missouri, are trying to figure out what caused an older man to drive through a house on Shannon Avenue.
In a Facebook post, the Smithville Area Fire Protection District said they, police and EMS were called to the scene of a reported “car driven through a house” just before 1 p.m.
When they got there, they found a car had gone through the garage door, busted through the back wall of the garage and crashed into an above-ground pool.
Police said the man, who appeared to be in his 80s, may have had a medical problem before the crash.
SAFPD said the driver suffered minor injuries.
The house sustained significant damage, as did the pool.
